Listen to Me (Deaf-related poem)Please listen to me carefully,
Listen to them around you,
All the sounds you hear.
Don't take this as a granted,
You see me speak with my hands,
Voiceless and silence,
Not a single sound I can hear what you can hear.
Don't you dare to mock me of the language I speak,
To insult me with an old name haunting us throughout the history,
to taunt me of my long-life suffering.
All of the sounds I 'hear' is special,
But you cannot hear them,
How blindingly you are to everything I see,
The same beauty in the different sense.
You don't even know me,
But you judged me beforehand,
And you called me dumb,
How cruel you were I will never forget.
You see me now as a fair woman,
With a loving and strong willed soul,
How flawed we both share,
As human beings we both are.
There is no real difference in us,
You have both of your ears to listen,
I have both of my eyes to see,
Only the difference is our perspective of the world.
His Unconditional LoveMy heart torn into pieces,
by the selfishness and greed without remorse,
Showed no regards for the suffering.
Every dying beat suffered the great pain,
The blood bleed into black puddle where it laid,
outlived its usefulness of his avidity.
How cruel the love was,
only a man is capable of a such thing.
The darkness and despair came to me,
It filled in the void in the place of the heart,
seeped slowly into my every vein.
It wasn't long before the light came,
With his sword he wield battled against the shadows,
he went through in blood and sweat to save his damsel,
whom he fell in love.
He picked up bloody pieces of heart,
With a purple thread he sewn,
To make it whole once again.
He clutched mine in his two strong hands,
Treasured it dearly close to his gentle soul,
Sworn to protect it at all cost.
My heart riddled with scars both old and new,
Mended by his purple threads,
And tended by his unconditional love.
The unconditional love,
in the truest and pure form of love,
even truer than
You Were Not An Aquarium BoySea-glass became your bones,
brine your blood, and seashells
melded into your skin.
You were not quite an ocean
when you said "This is your sign to love me."
My body was like a building;
tall, cold, almost unbreakable.
I was metallic and sharp,
towering over your waters.
I remember taking your hand in mine,
conch and coral shells scrubbing
my skyscraper wrists, and laughing
about how one day you would
submerge every last bit of me.
Your lips, riddled with argonauts,
found my cheek and I cringed
at the coarseness.
You asked if they bothered me
and I finally told you "I
think I love you."
